It was the mystery that first made me paint. The process of connecting to the subconscious is most important. It is a need to explore and document many realms within the mind, spirit and materials I use. This is how I connect with others through what I capture. This can be both a pleasurable and daunting emotional experience.

When I am done, like the end of a thought, a painting has been exhausted from the resources I have to communicate its completion. The title merely symbolizes it is now ready for public viewing, only then can I move on again to create another.

My work is composed from the cumulative experiences we absorb from any given moment, exploring intuitively these emotionally based realities and documenting on surfaces created with mixed media. It is a process of layering a range of materials varying from acrylics, oils, ink, pastel, marker, and pencil onto canvas, paper, wood and glass. These pieces are intended to entertain through empathy of the human condition. The resulting collage and assemblage symbolizes the integration between nature and urban life, the discord and harmony they both engender, and how we adapt and adjust while expressing what is happening inside as well as around us.
